Mark began his career coming through the youth ranks at Arsenal, before joining Cardiff City, and later played in Scotland with St Mirren and Aberdeen.
He returned to English football after signing for Championship team Blackpool, before going on to make over 100 appearances for Sheffield United between the years of 2012 and 2016.
Whilst with Sheffield, Mark was part of the Blades side that reached the 2013/14 FA Cup Semi-Finals and both the League Cup Semi-Finals and the League One Play-Offs in 2014/15.
After his successful spell in Sheffield, he crossed the Pennines to join up with Phil Parkinson for the first time at Bolton. In his first season at the Macron Stadium, Howard was a key part of the squad that saw Phil Parkinson’s side earn promotion into the Championship.
From there, he signed with Salford City and Scunthorpe respectively, before moving to Cumbria with Carlisle. Howard, 35, won the Player of the Season award with the Cumbrians 2021/22, as his non-stop shot-stopping secured their League Two standing.
Mark joins Ryan Reynolds owned Wrexham A.F.C with a vast amount of experience and is a very welcomed addition to the goalkeepers union at the club, alongside new coach Aidan Davison.
